Asbury Preschool and DayCare is an outreach program of the Asbury United Methodist Church offering an excellent program for children aged infant-thru12 years of age.  We believe we are called to care for children, showing concern for families and providing support and guidance for its members and surrounding community.

In brief, you should know the following about us: our preschool was established in 1991 and has been responsible for providing outstanding child care ever since.

We currently have 6 classroooms for children ages 2-5, which includes 2 Pre-K classrooms. In October of 2019 we added an infant and toddler room in the Family Life Center. The curriculum at Asbury is designed to promote a balanced degree of learning, recreation, craft, science, music and Christian values. All staff is Infant CPR/First Aid certified, background check and now state fingerprinted. The facility has installed security cameras in babyroom, playgound and gym for the safety of staff and children. We also have security door that can only be opened by staff.

We offer two meals and two snacks daily here at Asbury Preschool.  Breakfast is served to any child who arrives prior to 7:30am.  We serve a nutritious morning snack as well about 9:30am.  Lunch is served at noon and an afternoon snack is served after rest time around 3pm.  We are on the Federal Food Program and follow their guidelines.

It is a state regulation that all preschool children attending a preschool or daycare have a rest period at some point throughout the day.  Our time is between 12:45 and 2:45.  The children at Asbury have cots for their nap time.  Parents need to provide bedding - including a sheet, pillow and blanket which are to be taken home weekly for laundering.

We offer a before and after school program for school agers, where we have bus transportation pick up and drop off right on our parking lot for Troy Cuivre Park school, Troy Boone School,  Winfield School, Elsberry School and Immaculate Conception - Old Monroe.  For those same children, we offer a fun summer program with weekly field trips. We pride ourselves with the staff for school age children, they work from daily lesson plans and try to have a well rounded day full of sports, education, Bible study and crafts.

Since we deal with 3 school districts we chose to do a "Delayed Start" for any day that the schools are closed due to weather. What this means is that we won't open till 7:00 am. We will make every effort to be open to help out our parents. We will close if there is severe ice for the safety of our staff.

We also implemented a couple of useful phone apps. One is the"Remind" app and it is used by the director to keep you informed about the events and special days that you need to be aware of. The other application is called "MyKidzday". This is for parent-teacher commuication, pictures, projects and special notes. Both of these are free to you.
